The Morris Couple Won A $228.9 Million Jackpot
On the 11th of August 2011, another shocking Powerball victory hits the city of Burnsville, Minnesota. The winners, Thomas and Kathleen Morris who were both 61 years of age won a $228.9 million Powerball jackpot. The story of this couple winning the lottery was foreseen by Thomas cause he was always so sure that he was going to win the lottery on day. The Morris couple who had two grown children now had a grandchild a few days before the victory, guess the child brought some heavenly blessings along while coming.

The morning before the purchase of the winning ticket, Morris and his wife went to have a chat with their financial planner and realized that retirement may not come as soon as they wished. Things were looking bad and Thomas believed that the only way to get retired was to win the lottery, then his wife encouraged him to get some tickets. On the 10th of august, Thomas decided to buy five tickets from the Super America store in Lakeville on 16161 Cedar Avenue because the people that worked in the store were very nice to him. Tom who usually buys a maximum of three ticket every week now decided to buy five because he didn’t have $3 in his pocket. He took his tickets and then drove to Indiana for a business trip as a sales engineer.
When Thomas got home, however, good fortune was only moments away. he heard over the radio that there was a winner from Dakota County and then decide to check his tickets. It turned out that it was the fourth ticket which he usually doesn’t buy that was the lucky win. The numbers that changed their lives were 11, 18, 36, 41, 46, and the Powerball, 38. The 38 number the amount of years these two have been married.
The couple came forward to claim their prize and had two months to decide whether they want to take the cash option of $123 million which would amount to $84 million after taxes or an annual payment of $7.5 million for duration of 30 years. This was recorded the largest Powerball jackpot since Powerball began in 1992.
The couple ended up choosing the cash out option of $84 million after taxes. The Super America store in Lakeville received a reward of $50,000 for selling the winning ticket. The couples needed financial advice on how the money should be spent and so donate some of it to charities and also part of it was for the family.
This win was formed by a triple 11. A few of the other numbers are highly significant as well for the Vindoria Chronicles. Especially for the House of the Order and the Trollmother.
